When Prof. Anders steps outside her bedroom door, life is all decked out. The flooring material is a non-wood composite, suppose to last 30 years. No need to sand, stain or seal ever. The design criteria for the effects above the floor: use the remaining deck material, block out the ugly utility stuff, block out any view into the bedroom, and make it interesting. Client planted the bamboo one year prior to help create privacy from her neighbor’s view. Highlighting the solid privacy wall, five perforated steel screens were handcrafted to keep it interesting. Redwood shelves and accents are stained and protected.
