Chief Instructor’s main criteria: tall enough to hang a raincoat. 3 world-class instructors offer different hands-on weekend classes at The Maloof where I serve as the workshop manager [2020-2021]. They each, plus me, get a locker, 80”h x 16”w x 24”d. Made of Baltic birch 13-layer ply, lightly sanded, unfinished. Handles made of walnut scrap. Above, space to display more finished pieces. To the left of the lockers is a shelf to stock scraps shorter than 30”. Installed within an 8-foot span, underneath a storage loft at the entry of the east barn, which seemed to perfectly designate the area for these built-ins. Another post showcases the lunch counters, opposite of these lockers under the same loft.
